Buy a huge bath sheet for mom and baby, some all natural baby shampoo or body olive, a rubber duckie, and maybe some lavender lotion for a for bed rub down.
once when i was out i seen thes gorgeous (big) teddys either in blue or pink, and also a names gif cd which sings your childs name in lullabys. and also gift wrapped.

diapers, bottles, bottle brushes, pacifiers, baby nail care kit, baby suctioning kit for noses and such. I often go to our cheaper outlets for such things and get an entire bag full of odds and ends and the things a new Mom can never have too much of–like the above mentioned items and burp clothes, receiving blankets and a keeper clip or three for pacifiers work wonders! You can even get a bag of new born size diapers, tie layers of them together in spiraling circles like an old fashioned wedding cake tied with bright ribbons and stick your little gifts in it like cake decorations.
