What’s A Good Gift To Give A Couple Expecting A Baby?

My friends are a couple that are expecting in a month . Their probably won’t be an actual baby shower, and that’s more for the female friends anyway. However I did want to get the two of them something they can enjoy together wither before or after the baby arrives. My thought was a gift card to a nice restaurant so they can relax after taking care of the baby so much. Keep in mind I wanted to get them an adult gift and not baby supplies. Any other ideas?

It’s tough to go out to a restaurant with a new baby in the family. It’s going to be a while before they can really use it to it’s full advantage.
A suggestion along the same lines…..you could “cater” dinner for them one night.
Arrange for food, beverages and a DVD and that way they can eat when they are able and can watch the DVD as time permits.
Very nice that you want to think of Mom and Dad during this busy time in their life. (make sure to tuck a little something for baby in whatever you do)

Offer your time to your friends. Offer to do a load of laundry, dishes, or vacuuming for the new parents. Housework can get behind when a new baby comes home. Or maybe offer to do the grocery shopping for them so they don’t have to leave or take the baby out. A casserole would be nice (it can be ate or frozen for later).
The gift card idea is good for a date night, but some parents don’t want to leave their baby until it gets a little older. Maybe if that’s what you decide to get them, offer to be the babysitter while they’re out.

The best thing you can offer them is your time! Honestly if you want to do the gift certificate, an additonal gift you can offer is your time to babysit while they go out and relax. Make it a night where you have no prior obligations so they can relax and take the time they need.
I know this is something I would have lovedddddddddddddddddd when I had my son…maybe with this baby someone will do it:D
    Good luck…

A great gift for the couple expecting a baby is baby toys and other stuff. They would love it. You check out wonderful gift ideas from online shopping sites like http://shopping.surfindia.com/baby-toys/

the offer to baby sit would be great too
some of our friends brought us frozen casseroles they made so we’d have food once the baby was born

A gift card is a good idea, but also offer to babysit so they can actually use it.

I recently had a baby, and it was very difficult leaving the house right away. I think it would be really neat if you could bring them some nice food, drink and maybe a movie. That way mom and dad can enjoy themselves without having to worry if the baby is ok with a babysitter, or it the baby will start to get upset if they take baby out with them. It can be very nerve racking for new parents if the baby starts to cry out in public. If you want to give a gift before the baby arrives then I think something for them to go on a date would be perfect. Just make sure you give it to them soon, she could have that baby anytime. :) You are a good friend to want to think of them as a couple, people will soon forget all about them and will only think about the baby. Maybe throw in some diapers with the gift they will always need those.

I think a gift card for a nice restaurant might be nice. You could also get them a gift basket of nice pre-prepared meals (freezer meals) for post-d-day survival. You could maybe even get them a gift card/package for a local maid agency to come in and spiffy up their home (do some of the cleaning chores) if thats something that would appreciate… not a one size fits all present, by any means, but very thoughtful.
