Whats A Good Baby Shower Gift?
I have a close friend/family member that had her baby shower already , i couldnt go to her shower b/c i had to work . she got everything she registered for and more!! . now im at a loss. can anyone think of a unique different kind of gift. BTW shes having a girl.
A custom diaper cake. Great gift, especially if you know baby’s name (custom embroidered items!)
If she is really that close a friend, an interesting gift would be a coupon for babysitting.
Most people get lots and lots of cute little outfits, items that we really don’t need or never use, zillions of baby blankets, but I know if someone offered to babysit so I could have some time to myself, I would have jumped at the offer.
You can make a cute coupon on the computer and present it to her. She might appreciate that more than another frilly dress that the baby will eventually spit up on.
im not sure about anyone else’s family but in our family the grandparents always buy the baby its first piece of jewelry which is a tiny gold baby bracelet… if its not a tradition in this ladys family, thats always something the baby will have forever and will always use to remember you by! they aren’t too expensive depending on how detailed it is and where you get it… i have even seen them at walmart! good luck!!!
One of my favorite gifts was a basket of baby shampoo, powder and other daily items that go together so I could simply stash it in the cubby and will be able to use it whenever I need it. Practical. A really cute light, there are lots of unique ones, a scrapbooking kit or a baby journal. Also any daily items really, they may not feel unique but you know she can use them and that thought counts!
In my area’s craiglist, there’s this lady selling diaper babies. Instead of a diaper cake, you basically just stuff a cute little outfit (a little older than a newborn outfit or preemie, since that wouldn’t hold very much really.) and there you go. I thought it was a really cute, unique idea. Especially since diaper cakes themselves are kind of overdone.
If you want unique try a keepsake gift like a baby book, baby calendar, or one of those handprint/footprint plaster things. If you want practical, size 1 or 2 diapers. People have prob already got Newborn size but no one thinks to get bigger sizes, they don’t stay in NB very long. I didn’t even think of it until my sister got me a size 1 when my son was born.
Diapers are always needed so maybe get her a pack of each size. Size newborn to 6. If that doesn’t work for you maybe get her a gift certificate to a place that does 3D and 4D ultrasounds/sonogram. I got that as a gift and i loved it cause i was able to see what my little munchkin looked like while she was still in the womb. If that doesn’t work for you, then get her something personalized. Maybe a blanket with the baby’s name on it or a pillow or a stuffed bear. No matter what it is she’lll love it cause it’s from you and from the heart. Good luck.
Honestly get something for her to wear at the hospital, a nightgown, slippers, and gift certificate to get a pedicure or something after the baby is born, so many people give stuff for the baby, and the gift that stood out for me at my shower was an aftercare package for me to take to the hospital
I always like to make a basket, find one that can be used for something later like toys or something. I usually line it with a nice soft blanket and then fill it with essentials like onesies, bibs, nooks, nail clippers, bottles, and outfit, a toy, etc… These are things they are going to go through even if other people got them. Also, you can never have too many diapers!
The chances are she has everything and will have loads of clothes… But with my son when he was a new born we were really happy when people bought clothes for that would fit him in say 6 months
So i suggest that u go and by some really nice out fits that she can grow into…
Alsop for fathers day this year i got a hand print set its like a picture frame with a photo on one side and my boys hand prints on the other.. its made from clay that u push the kids hands in and the let set.. i absolutely love it and it was a great gift…
You could make a little plaque type of thing that says stuff like Its a Girl, and some other stuff like important things that would happen on the day she’s born and since the said to be parents basically have everything that they need…Something heart felt might be nice…To show that you put a lot of time and effort into it… Hope that helps =]
if she has everything that she needs, i would seriously get her a big box of diapers (about 15$) and a big box of wipes (roughly 10$). that way you feel like you’ve spent a decent amount on her and she’ll be using your gift more than any of the rest of the things she got.
all mommies need diapers and wipes. so thats definitely my opinion
Get the baby a really cute onesie or dress and have it monogrammed with the babies name on it. I did this for a friend’s baby girl and it was super cute. I bought a camouflage dress (the dad is a hunter) and had her name monogrammed in pink and had rhinestones put on it! So cute!
Supplies to make a scrapbook of the baby’s first year. Not only is it a unique gift, but it will give the momma something to do other than change diapers and heat bottles while she is on maternity leave.
get her a bunch of board books for when the baby gets a little bigger. look for the classics, i love you this much, good night moon, brown bear brown bear, mayb get a warm blanket so mom and baby can snuggle up while they read.
