My friend is a young mother and her baby shower is next week and i dont know what to give her.

Preferably something she’s registered for. Mom’s put a lot of time into deciding what they want. Some of the things I couldn’t have lived without were the bouncy chair, swing, stroller, car seat, etc. If you can go in with someone else on the gift I’m sure she’d love to have all the big gear she needs, especially since this is her first baby. Otherwise the essentials are always great like; baby bathtub, towels, burp rags, clothes, blankets, etc. One of my favorite baby shower gifts was everything bath. A friend of mine got me the baby bath and filled it with essentials; towels, washcloths, robe, pj’s, shampoo, brush, rubber duck… Have fun shopping!
A boppy was a must for us. It is a doughnut shaped pillow for feeding plus as the baby gets older they can use it for sitting up. Also a car mirror for when the baby is in the backseat so you can see them.
Also since I am in the business I will mention that Baby Diaper Cakes have become a huge success at showers. They become the focal point. We make them in all price ranges, themes, colors and sizes. Just email and I can send some sample pictures.
Definetly give her something she will be able to use for the baby. A bouncy seat, swing, bottles, diapers, bath towels, blankets, clothes, a car seat or really anything she will use. if she registered somewhere just check and see what she registered for.

I would stear clear of all clothes!
A baby swing is GREAT, but also can be pricey. So if you can’t afford one of those, we really liked the crib attachments that play soft music (ours was an aquarium) Diapers are always a welcomed present, opt for size 1 or larger.
I always love gifts with memories. Something memorable. Something different. Like an ingraved picture frame or box to put the babies hospital bracelets and hat. They have them at Things to Remember.Or they have a frame at babies r us..where you can put a picture of the babies first 1-12 months. Something like that
a breast pump, first aid kit for baby, those packs full of medicine for gas, cold & cough, nausea, teether, baby orajel ect
depending on how much money you have… maybe a travel system?
young mothers are registering now at places like Baby R Us, and Target. They list the things they would like. You could find out for ideas. I got my niece one of those Boppe things. She was really happy with it.
I have always given my friends a sling because nobody ever thinks to give them that.
diapers they are always helpful because babies are going to need them for a very long time.
Diapers & wipes! These things add up!
