If your friend is expecting twins, here is some good information…… Have her contact:
Mead Johnson Nutritional Group
Attn: Multiple Birth Program
2400 West Lloyd Expressway
Evansville, IN 47721-0001
(812) 429-6321
They have a great program with good free stuff…. Also:
Free Diaper Genie for Moms of Multiples – call before babies are 3 months old (800) 843-6430
Another Hint…. She will need tons of Diapers and Baby supplies. Have her visit http://www.diapers.com and get signed up. The prices are cheaper than Walmart. If she does order, have her use Referral Code: BRST3227 at checkout to Save $5.00 off !!!
My favorite gifts were the things right off my registry! These were the things I thought I would need and did need. You can pick a theme like bath time and then get the bathtub and fill it with some soaps, lotions, diaper cream, and some bath toys.
If she didn’t register then ask her, just know everyone will get her clothing and blankets, so be creative with something a little different! Maybe even stick in a promise to help with them for a few days or meals after they are born. Twins are hard! If you get toys, don’t get the same toys twice, get two similar toys that are different.
BUMBO!!!! They are the best things every and if she’s having twins it’ll be a lifesaver. It’s the coolest seat so even little 2-3 month old babies can sit up and hang out. I used mine so that I could get things done!
JOHNSON & JOHNSON SHAMPOO,LOTION,BABY WASH,DIAPERS,BIRPRAGS,WIPES,DESITIN,HANG… MITTENS,CRIBSHEETS, BABY TOWELS AND WASHCLOTHES
Diapers, a bouncy seat, and swaddle me blankets.
I had a December baby and I got a sherpa lined infant carrier cover that zipped up so it completely surrounded her. It was so warm and cozy that I never had to bundle her in an uncomfortable snowsuit. The maker of that great gift was J.Cole… Also, a boppy with covers (because puking never stops), and diapers are always a plus. Skip the wipes, laundry detergents, body washes, etc.. because you never know if the baby will be allergic to certain brands….
Diapers!!!!!!
An offer to babysit!!!!
twins I would think front and rear strollers or side by side,, strollers have come along way since 20 years ago when my kids were little, kids grow so fast when young it is hard to say clothing etc,,, guess find out if they are breast feeding or bottle feeding and go from there
A gift basket with all the little things babies need.Diapers, wipes, shampoo, etc plus a little something for Mom.
The other gift I got and have given is a terry cloth covered bath frame that the baby can lie on while you bathe it.
Both hands are free and made giving a bath so much easier.
The best thing i have been given was hand me downs from my friends who have had children. I asked around to see what they had left and if i could borrow it. I ended up getting a free crib, portacrib, bassinett, clothes, bottles, sheets, blankets, and a bunch of stuff. I couldnt do it without my friends.
Obviously, lots and lots of diapers / wipes /clothes in asst sizes. But also a swing was invaluable!!!!!!
Antelop High Chair from IKEA. It is so simple it’s brilliant and cheap. You can just hose it down, extremely time saving especially if you have twins.
A great gift would be diapers. Depending how much you are willing or can afford to spend. She’ll need a car seat to take the baby home. Or it can be little things like baby bottles pacifier baby powder lotion. You can make a sort of gift basket with baby things.
clothes….bottles…as a mother of an 8 month old I would recommend diapers and/or wipes they are very helpful!
Baby wipe warmer. My cousin’s GF loved it so much, she bought a second so that she had it both upstairs and down (multilevel home). We both just thought it was a ‘gadget’. It was just an add-on for the quilt that I made her (which also sees daily use).
Massage certificate or free babysitting coupons!
Boppy’s
Diaper Genie
plenty of diapers
wipes
extra bottles
clothing of different sizes
All of thos are good ideas but by far what I’ve noticed is a good buy and cute is the bears that silmulate the mothers heartbeat. It’ll help especially when the mom’s busy with one and the other wants attention.
diaper genie!!!! and things that she has registered for!!!
Bumbo chairs are great, or boppy pillows. Diapers and wipes, recieving blankets and burp cloths.
Well i already had my names picked out and my sister bought me this really beautiful photo album, the cover is all stainless steel with cute teddy bears, rattles and baby blocks engraved in it, well my sis had my new sons name engraved in on it. It is so cute. There is always use for albums, especially for first time moms.
diapers, diapers, diapers. And all different sizes not just new born size. Especially with twins. It doesn’t seem like a fancy gift but believe me diapers are the way to go. Diapers are expensive for one baby. You can’t go wrong.
some kind of carrier… like slings (Maya Wrap was my favorite)
they make some for twins, but any kind will do… she’ll always have at least one baby that needs to be held, so she can hold one hands-free, and do whatever else with the other hand.
this one looks kind of wierd, but she may like it!!http://www.doubleblessings.com/Detail.bo…
I got a big bag and filled it with different baby hygiene products…. a few bottles of shampoo, lotion, body wash, cotton balls, cotton swabs, some nail clippers, a nose sucker, and made my own little gift bag rather than buying one pre-made. the pre-made ones are so expensive and only give you one of each thing… they charge you an arm and a leg for the basket it all comes in!
The best gifts I received at my baby shower were:
Diapers, a Costco box of baby wipes (which lasted about a month lol) and Dreft laundry soap
All the necessary items that really add up in price over the first few months (who am I kidding…years!)
A gift certificate to JC Penney portrait studio (or similar). With twins you don’t know if the mom is the type to dress them identically or different, which is a personal choice.
All the things mentioned here are super useful – diapers, wipes (both expensive – and with twins they will go through tons of them), bottles (whether breast feeding or not – she will eventually need them), bottle brush, onsies, pj’s, hats & socks (amazing how you can go through so many!), a couple of pairs of Robees shoes – to help keep the socks on!, boppy pillow with extra covers, baby sling with instructional video.
Some things that might be especially helpful to your friend – info on a food market in her area that delivers food (like StopNShop’s peapod service – a lifesaver for me after I had my daughter),
have friends cut out coupons for diapers (really helps save $$$),
a membership in the local superstore warehouse (ie BJ’s – cheapest for formula & diapers),
a gift certificate for a maid service,
or gather info from local friends who have children and might be willing to share babysitter information (can be very hard to come by…)
Good luck!
Diapers and wipes. Also Dreft laundry detergent and Dreft stain remover.
Honestly, anything you give would be useful to the new mommy.
Travel Systems (stroller/car seat combos)
Pack & Play (mini playpen folds up real compact)
Bottles, diapers, wipes
Baby monitor
Bumbo seat
Bouncy Chair
Swing
Even grooming basics like nail clippers, digital thermometer, hair brush, bugar suckers (gross but highly necessary), OTC medicines for infants, baby wash and lotion
go figure lol!
