A custom designed diaper cake that includes personalized embroidered blankets bibs and/or onesies!! Designed to match the shower theme or baby’s nursery decor….so the parents can decorate the nursery with it while waiting for the big day!!!

I think a scrapbook of current events, music, movies, etc. of things that have occurred the year the baby is born is something the baby can keep and cherish forever and probably not the sort of thing anyone else would think to give. Depending on your relationship with this person and her family, maybe you could even get some pictures of the baby’s parents from when they were kids to put in there, family tree info, funny stories about family and things like that.

usually when someone has a baby shower they are on a registry at wall mart, target, or babies r us. they have a list that they made of the things they really need and u cant mess up with that cuz if u buy something off the list it gets erased so no one else will buy the same thing for them. i had a registry but no one really bought anything off it and i ended up getting alot of things i allready had. its nice yes to recieve a gift no matter what but when u allready have it and there is no gift reciept you most likely just hae to give it away and that sucks
In order of most use:

I personally loved getting these things because I got so much other baby stuff and clothing:
-Books
-Cool toys for earlier developmental stages(not stuffed animals! Got way too many of these!)
-A small diaper bag for quick outings
-Little trash bag dispenser for diaper bag
-Gift certificate to a professional photo place
-Child reference book by American Academy of Pediatrics (invaluable!)
The best gift that I received and now give others is a baby bathrub filled with soaps and lotions and a package of diapers…
That’s a great question. Go to findgift.com for some good ideas, too. You can get some great ideas just by giving a little bit of info. I like to give things other than clothes and diapers. First aid kits are good, also keepsakes or frames. I like to go to little boutiques to find unique things, instead of the usual target and walmart stuff.

I always give diaper genies because people don’t normally get that type of thing; however, I think you can’t have enough of them because there is nothing worse than going into someones home and smell the stinky diapers they don’t throw out immediately.
Another more unique idea is to get them a gift certificate for the professional framing (include the frame cost) of the babies first outfit or baptism outfit to hang and cherish forever.

My freind had a boy, and my other friend did this:
she bought a dump truck toy to ride when he was older, and filled the back up with all kinds of stuff like baby shampoo, powder, bottles, bibs, onsies, ect. I am gonna do the same for another friend except I am going to buy the diaper bag she wants and fill that up.
I think books are a great idea…. Choose a series like Dr. Seuss. Or even something special for the parents to be… I think that is always a nice idea.
there are these really cool rubber duckies at target, you can get them at kroger too, maybe even walmart. on the bottom there is a blue circle and has the word hot in it. if the water is too hot for the baby the letters turn white to let you know. that was one of the coolest gifts i received and i always give them to new mommies!!
