The best gift i have ever got is this deal for handprints and footprints. the parents mix it up and it comes in a tin. They mix it up …its plaster. best thing and a wonderful keepsake. not a lot of people think of it.

usually people are appreciative of any thing handmade and esp for a new baby . cause you want to save everything. depending on how soon baby is coming, knittng or crocheting is easy, lots of self teaching books availiable. Also al kinds of new yarns /colors

the best gift for a baby shower is a gift card then they can go buy whatever they want because most people end up taking back the stuff they get i know i did lol

A gift certificate for 6 week portraits and an engraveable silver frame is a very thoughtful shower gift.

I HIGHLY recommend Halo Sleepsacks. You don’t have to be rich or poor to appreciate these. They are like a little blanket that is like a vest, so baby won’t smother himself by getting trapped in blankets. My household income is over 220K a year, and I use these religiously. The next thing I would recommend is a portable changing pad, loaded up with wipes and diapers and ointment. I can’t tell you how FILTHY public changing tables are, and these little vinyl things made by Babies R Us or First Year are awesome! Just unfold it on the table, the back of the car, the lawn or wherever you happen to be, and you have a clean surface to change baby on.

Do something origional like a collage of pics of when she was pregnant. Make it look good! Do something crafty that will be meaningful in years to come! Make them some sort of keepsake! Money can not buy memories!

Perhaps have a tree planted? Add a memorial placard with his name and stats & from who.

Set up a trust fund or college fund for the baby.

You can pre-pay to have the child’s first outfit and shoes bronzed/silvered/golded/platinumed,etc. This way when the child out grows the clothing, the mother already has a gift certificate to have her baby’s first momento treasured as a life time keepsake and possible heirloom. I realize no one really bronzes baby stuff any more, but I always thought this was a really nice idea.
It can be put in a nice acrylic or glass keep sake box with a picture of the child as a baby in the same outfit.

first check the registry…..then if you still need ideas, i loved one particular gift i got. it was a shopping cart cover. keeps babies away from germs. sometimes, a gift for a baby that is a little older is cool too. we get so much stuff for when they are new borns, older gifts are cool. like, a potty chair, or a little bike, or a rocking horse. one other thing i really appreciated was, someone got a gift for me for my shower, it was a bunch of stuff from bath and body works. it sure made me feel good.

if it were me i would get a little basket and fill it with wet wipes cotton buds. baby shampoo/ lotions / cotton buds bath foam / baby oil / and nappies and stuff like that and little mittons and bibs and socks (can get them pretty cheapput cellaphane around it (possibly blue ) and tie a big blue bow around it. it will be cute and she will guarantee to use it so it will be a very handy little gift probably cost £10-£20 pound depending how much u wanna buy some times check supermrkets can get buy 1 get 1 free ( also cheaper idea forget a basket if 2 expensive and buy a blue plastic box will come in handy again after she used all the items ) hope this helps have fun =)

Well she’ll find out you can never have to much of something with a new baby so t-shirts(oneies) are good. If she has alot like you say then get a bigger size than 0-3 months get a 6-9 cause by the end of the summer she’ll need to reload for the fall. They grow sooooooooo fast!!!

How about an engraved silver cup with the baby name and birth date. You can purchase the cup and pay for the engraving, after the baby is born she can add the information.

    US Savings Bond
My grandmother did this for my sister and I when we were born.
Also something I do for EVERY baby shower is that I get the mom to be a personal gift just for her: like a basket with bath & body products, a nursing bra & PJs, a “Sane” mommy basket filled with tylenol, pads, Nursing pads, Nursing gel for sore nipples, etc. Pretty much juch things for the new mom.

  19. SupaStar says:

I would check out her registry. She should have one.

  20. Shan says:

You could always crochet or knit her a baby blanket, some booties and/or a hat, or some of those little mittens that you put on a baby’s hands so that they will not scratch themselves. Otherwise, check with her to see if she has a baby gift registry somewhere, or just get her a gift card to someplace that she frequently shops at. Mommy has to be pampered too! You could get her a bath spa kit or buy her a massage at a place for whenever she wants. If she is happy and relaxed, baby will be happy and healthy too.

If you know tha baby’s name already get some wooden letters and paint them different colors for the baby’s room

pack & play, baby book; my sis is havin a boy next month, an I have my daughters’ pac & play still, an its TONS useful when traveling!! especially when Mom & Dad need space in a small bed, and there’s no room for baby!! the baby book doesnt need an explanation, its just a cool gift for mom and baby to look back @ when he’s old enough to recognize himself in pics and stuff!! hope this helps!

  23. moonsfan says:

Some kind of box ( like a hope chest) that things can be stored in like babies homecoming outfit, and other memorie treasures that the parents want to keep to give him when he has his own children.
Then again you could do things like:
    Diapers, different sizes
    Wipes
    Baby Shampoo
    Baby Wash
or anything else that you use alot of but do eventually need more of, or even something that the baby will need in the future, bigger sizes of clothes, socks, shoes, toys for older infants.
What she also might like would be the offer to help with the baby, offer to watch the baby sometimes so that she can pamper herself, take a nap, read or whatever she wants to do, even help with the housework, something like those coupons that come out for valentines that you give your signifacant other.
