What Are Some Good Game/gift Ideas For A Baby Shower?
What are some good games to do at a baby shower?
What are some good gifts to give to the people who win the games?
My mom and I are throwing my baby shower in May and I am not sure on games and gifts.
Thanks to everyone that answers!
get 5 nappies, put something smelly in eachone and everyone has to guess what they are.
measure your belly with string. pass a ball of string around and people have to cut it were they think is right then once everyone done, they put thier string around your belly to see who got closest size.
put a hat with a name of a celebrity who is pregnant on everyones head, they have to guess whoit is by asking questions.
everyone has to say (you write down their clues) what sex, size, date your baby is going to be.
prizes, chocolates.
hope this helps.
we played all these at my one and they were heaps of fun
i went to a baby shower with my mom a few weeks back and there were some fun games!
1. u spread cotton balls a few feet in every direction on the floor and u give the 1 person a large bowl. u blindfold them and give them a spatula. u give them 30 seconds to scoop up all the cotton balls they can and its really funny to see them scoop nothing into the bowl!(well sometimes they get the cotton into the bowl)
2. let each person at the baby shower take as much toilet paper as they think the pregnant womans waist and whoever is the closest wins. its hilarious to see the pregnant woman get mad at whoever guessed a lot bigger than she actually is!
3. u hang clothespins from a rope and let 2 ppl hold each end. u tell the contestant that she must only use one hand to take as many bobby pins off of the rope as possible. whoever gets the most wins.(if u drop one u lose)
4. a game that can go on for the whole shower is this: as the women come in u give them each one safety pin and tell them not to cross thier legs if they cross thier legs and anyone sees them the person who noticed gets thier pin. whoever has the most pins at the end of the shower gets the prize.
5. another game that i played at my bffs moms baby shower was where u give everybody playdough and whoever makes the best playdough baby wins!
some gifts that i got were a bab of m and ms that said ITS A BOY! or ITS A GIRL!
k well thats all i got so good luck!
You could do sooo many things for games, such as…
Baby bingo (everyone fills out a blank card and when she opens gifts mark off what she gets)
Everyone cuts a piece of streamer and then measure her belly, whoever is closest wins
Word jumble, crossword, baby names (flower=Rose), baby parts (a part of a clock= face)
As far as gifts you could get frames from a dollar store and when the baby gets here mail the pictures in the thank you cards. Buy Frames, soaps & lotions, or candles.
Another idea that my mom did for my shower was to buy small plants that everyone got before they left along with a speech about how we would like to share the gift of life with everyone who attended. They would have to care for these plants by watering, feeding, and nuturing but wouldn’t have to get up for 3am feeding! lol
Some of my guests still have them planted in their gardens after 10 years! (my plant died, although my daughter is still in one piece)
Congrats
I would recommend, for gift giving, to consider your guests. The baby shower is in May, so maybe some fun outdoor games or beach set (towel, sunscreen, etc.) Or small camping gear if your guests do that. Gift certificates to restaurants or beauty salons are also wonderful. Or you can put small baskets together with themes if you want, such as Coffee, Manicures, Workout, Candles, Tupperware, etc. Make gifts useful so you don’t waste your money and you guests use the gifts.
As for games, you can play traditional games and put a spin on them, such as poker. My girlfriends and I love poker-but you can ante in with pastel M-M’s, or even plastic tokens. Set the play for 15-20 mins. Whomever has most chips wins a prize. I like the tray game. Its like memory-Put a bunch of baby related items on a tray and set them out for a minute so everyone can get a good look. Give your guests 5 minutes to write as many items as they can remember. WHo gets the most wins.
I hope these suggestions helped!
my favorite games are: beer bottle drinking contest for the guys and partner up for baby feeding contest while blind folded..those are really fun because people stick baby food up noses and ears…
i used “baby” travel size toiletries in a green sandwich bag. works for both genders.
