I never had a baby shower so there wasn’t a registry to look at. I did that with my wedding registry though. I was curious to know what I was getting.
I did it every now and then, just because no one was getting anything from the registry and it was driving me MAD… like, why did I even take my time to make a list of the things we want? LOL
I did, and I was disappointed that almost no one bought anything off of my registry. I guess everyone thought that they knew better than me what I really needed.
I did. There was a bedding set I really wanted. I was afraid it would sell out and not be in stock. I planned on grabbing it myself if nobody else did. I think it was wrong of me to do. But, I couldn’t seem to help it at the time.
I did, my boyfriend made fun of me..lol nobody really got me anything off the registry. People dont like to buy practical.. and that was all i zapped.. they want to go for all the cute baby stuff.. im not complaining, i appriciate everything i got.. but i didnt get anything i needed
I wouldn’t bother, but I completely understand the need to peek.
The problem with registries is that you might look at the registry and buy elsewhere. There is no way to update that you bought something on the list if it was purchased elsewhere. If I bought bottles at Walmart, I can’t update a Target registry, even if it is the same thing. So, registries really don’t help with duplication.
For the last 5 showers that I have attended, the invitations just said that the mom plans to breastfeed or bottlefeed, nursery colors and sex (if known). Only 3-4 things on the registry where they were picky about wanting an exact model. Otherwise, anything you got was great.
Also, the one my Mom was just invited to, the gal just put a list on her blog and they included a note in the invite with a link to it. That way, if she wanted ‘any cute blanket’ in blue, it didn’t matter where you went (this is how registries USED to be).
I definitely looked, although more than half my gifts didn’t come from it. They would actually GO to babies r us and then not use it… I don’t understand. We had a “wipes warmer” but not a crib…uuugh!
I did a few times, just waiting to see if someone bought the crib I wanted. After I seen it had been purchased I didnt really care much about the other things. I know its probably not right but I am sure most do it.
I did it, everyone else I know did it too. We all still enjoyed our showers immensely.
Peaking doesn’t tell you who got what, and there are still so many surprises. Experienced mom’s know what to get first timers!
