You could get her a scrapbook album with some of the stuff to make pages for it. Then she could have a way to keep all of the baby’s early experiences forever.

Visit http://www.breezybeachwear.com and click on the apparel page. You will be re-directed to BBW’s gallery at zazzle. Look for the blue infant shirt that says “daddy’s little beach bum.” You can also find the pink one that says “mommy’s little beach bum” and order it in the blue or a different color. Buy a fun little sand castle pail and other beach toys to add to it. They’ll love the creativity!

Something that would be a good idea but is a little expensive would be these personalized teddy bears. She could keep it forever and give it to the baby once he gets older.
    Go to VermontTeddyBear.com
I have ordered bears from them for all kinds of occasions. There very much worth the money.
Or you could go to Build-a-Bear Workshop and make a bear for her they also make good gifts and arent as expensive.

How about giving them something personal and meaningful that you can make yourself? A handmade blanket or quilt……..If you don’t know how to quilt, you can purchase a blanket that just needs some edging put on, pretty simple………..
Also, sometimes the best gift is a basket filled with lots of the little things they will need but may not get at the shower: nail clippers, brush, washcloths, towels, socks, etc……….they even sell this type of thing made up to look like a cake or similar item…….
I tend to think handmade or personal (if they know they baby name already) is always the best way to go.

Adopt an animal from the local zoo.
Just be careful of your choice of animal.

There’s an amazing map you can personalize with the baby’s name and then add all family and friends. My sister got one and it’s a beautiful canvas wall hanging. A little expensive like $80 but you get what you pay for. The website is http//www.kidlandia.com.

Look online for some sort of baby massage kit. I found one (it may have been more than $25, but you can find something in your price range) for a good friend and she loved it. Totally wonderful to help mom enjoy bonding with baby and REALLY fantastic for calming and soothing a baby. If you can’t afford something like that, get a couple of lullaby CDs, a cheap picture frame at Target or WalMart and some tea or coffee for mom — all good, practical gifts!

Most people don’t think about a photo album to keep all of the beautiful pictures they will be taking. You can also take the first picture and put it in before you give it to them. Call 1-800-340-8838 Baby Heirlooms. They customize, baby growth charts, and more. Look at the thank heaven for little boys photo album. Check out http://www.babyheirlooms.com. Congrats Auntie!

A personal and very unique gift can be an oil portrait of their little boy made from a photo.

You can choose an express service which will let you receive the painting to your door in 2 weeks only.

Im sure you have pictures of the baby or you could go and take pictures right?….
Take a really special pic of the baby or mom & baby etc…crop and blow the picture up to 5×7 and have it printed up in black and white…buy a 8×10 frame with a mat for a 5×7…the matting of the pic makes it so much more professional looking and really helps the photo to stand out…Depending upon the price of the frame you get you could easily keep the gift well under $25.
Im sure that they will cherish that photo for years and years and they will always remember who gave it to them.

if you’re crafty, make them a baby sling. go to http://www.mayawrap.com and you’ll find examples of slings you can buy, how to wear them, etc.
if you go to http://www.slingrings.com, you can order the aluminum rings for the sling (cheap) and find free instructions to sew your own.
baby slings are wonderfully comfortable and a great way to carry your baby without getting exhausted!

That’s a tough one. We bought my nephew a toy chest that we had made custom to match the theme of his room and have his name on it. Hopefully he’ll be using it for many years. But it was a bit more than $25 ;) .
Also, http://www.clevercuties.com has cute baby clothes for geeks if they are geeky parents.

  16. A baby sling or wrap. Most parents don’t think about one, but they will thank you after there first try with it
