dont want just one big gift, want to spend around $20-$30 but it’s been a while since anyone I know has had a baby. what kind of things would be good to get that other people wouldn’t think of?

Well how about a keepsake album, the one that includes baby’s footprint.
Baby Lullabies base on current rock music – believe it or not they are really cool. U2, Greenday and others turned into baby music!
Sleep Sheep – makes noise so baby can fall asleep
Nursing tank – with summer coming up this will get a lot of use (if she plans to breastfeed)

Diaper cakes make fabulous gifts. You can always make one yourself, or buy one.

Receiving blankets & diapers are the most frequently given gifts, then clothing. My daughter is having a baby shower in 2 weeks, & I plan to get her some bottles, some small toys & a blanket, made into a nice little gift basket. Maybe that will help you?
A diaper cake. Cake made out of diapers and other baby things. I dont know what they cost but you can get “recipes” for them online and make one your self.
