Ladies What Is A Great Baby Shower Gift For A Boy That Is Not Your Normal Walmart Or Target Buy?

The best shower gift is the “Bumbo seat”. It’s a little molded seat that allows babies from 4 mos and up to sit up by themselves. I think that has been the greatest baby invention ever made!!
It was so easy to have our baby sit up at playdates to see the other babies, or sit up in the kitchen and watch me cook, etc. You can order it on-line, but they also started selling them at baby chain stores.

To be honest with you when I had my baby boy six years ago the things that came in handy for me were baby blankets, throw up rags, and t-shirts and socks. I am sure you know how fast a baby grows so clothes are nice but they only last so long. Now if you are talking about furniture I think a great gift would be a Rocking Chair, that lasts forever and can be handed down from generation to generation. I hope this helps you out a little.

I’ll look up Babies R Us or other baby store online and see what cute stuffs they have for boys. Or You could also look up disney store.
I don’t know what the boy/parents would like to have but surely you can find something that’s fit their shower theme.

Buy a big plastic dump truck or wheelbarrow and fill it up with cute boy stuff or baby essentials. I have done this and it always gone over well.

if you love the parents i would start a college fund and put whatever amount you can afford…and that will start the parents thinking about adding to it gradually.

Books are good. It’s never too early to begin reading to him. Maybe pick a book that was special to you when you were very young.
Or, if you are equipped to baby-sit, offer five free baby-sitting evenings for later when the parents want to go out.
Do you paint or do any kind of craft or decorating? Maybe you could make something or offer to do stenciling on the nursery walls in a pattern of the parents’ choice.

The bumbo is an awesome seat for a baby. You can put a child in there starting at 3 months old. It is great for baby to just sit in and look around. I work in a baby store that sells furniture and all sorts of stuff, and we cant keep the bumbo on our shelves. It is great for mom when she needs to bathe. She can take the bumbo into the bathroom with her so she can still watch baby, leave the baby in the bumbo, and the child is usually about 99% of the time content. They think its cool that mom is in the shower and they aren’t. One good thing about this seat is that the openings where the childs legs go are kind of snug so the baby cant get out of it tooo easy. Its moms babysitter when she needs to do something. The other thing we sell lots of is the Frog Pod. Its a scoop that suctioned onto the bathroom wall, and is used to scoop toys out of the bathtub quickly. There are holes in it to drain the water out so the toys dont get moldy.
Also getting mom some bath stuff to help her relax is always something she will love.

Im going to my friends baby shower next month and im getting her a supscription to a well known parenting magazine for a year.
I bought this magazine and found it really enjoyable and a little treat and quite helpful in certain situations as they discuss all aspects and problems from pregnancy-birth-raising the child.
Its a little treat for the mum and she can use it to read, relax, enjoy and help in some times of crisis.

Don’t where you live but if your area has a Marshall’s or a TJ Maxx they have great baby shower gifts that are traditional and nontraditional. Some are even by top designers and you don’t have to break the bank to buy them.

why don’t you buy the mother to be a gift like a massage or a hair cut/shampoo or even a day at a spa…..or you could get like…… a plaster kit you know to the babies hands a feet or something like that even with the ink one and get a nice frame with it so they can put it up on the wall…..

The best gifts I ever rec’d were from an old family friend & she gave me an outfit for 6 months with a Baby Einstein rattle, an outfit for a 1 year old, an outfit for a 2 year old, an outfit for 3 years old, and a set of Tonka truck dishes made for youngsters (obviously).
I loved it all but I especially loved the Tonka truck baby dishes – we started using them as soon as we started feeding him baby food around 4-5 months & he uses them to this day – he’s four years-old now!!

The best gift I was told I ever gave by a friend was a home-made baby album. I took fabric and covered a photo album, it was the colors of her new baby’s room (sage and white), it has a picture insert for the front of the book, and the baby’s name stitched down the spine. I wish I could have taken a picture but I have a picture of another book I did. The person thought it was great because it was a memento for her child.
All I did was buy a so-so photo album ($5.00), a matte board ($3.00), some fabric ($12.00), lace border and ribbon ($3.00), padding ($2.00), and some glue sticks ($2.00). That’s pretty much all you need, and for about under $30 dollars.

I thought this was a terrific gift. Not your everyday Target or Wal-Mart gift and exclusively personalized for the baby.
Hope you find this to be helpful

make something personalized. maybe a child size rocking chair, or a ceramic plate. just make sure you have the name. to make the gift even more special add the date of birth & how much he weight.
