I Need An Inexpensive New-born Baby Gift?

My daughter will be having a baby tomorrow (her 2nd). She chooses to be distant emotionally and physically. I still would like to send something for my grandchild (a girl). Any suggestions?

Well, from MUCH experience..(2 daughters and 4 fosters) you can never go wrong with buying diapers! Or a gift card..If you want it to be something sentimental…get a gold baby bracelet (they usually do not wear them) but they are about 18$..or a photo frame..all of those will be appreciated..Another thing I want to say is “hang in there”..My dad and I did not see eye to eye from the time I was 10 (Now almost 30)..it took me having my eldest daughter to bring us together again..Show a bit of effort, regardless of whose “fault” it is the made her grow distant and you may be surprised. After all the support I had, I still wanted my “daddy”..Good luck..I hope this helped..

Diapers, wipes, all that stuff. It’s the practical stuff that is most needed.

goto the dollar store and get a couple pairs of onesies and “scratch mits” . Those always come in handy. I have the same problem with my brother and sister in law. Or even a card with some money or a package of diapers. Since they choose to remain “emotionally distant”, I don’t see why you should go out of your way to get them anything. But that’s just me. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully new mom to be will open her eyes. A baby needs to know ALL their family.

You can’t go wrong with diapers, even a small package. It’s always a struggle to buy diapers. Bottles are always nice. Even just a small soft blanket. How bout a gift for your daughter? At my baby shower and such I got stuff for me as well. Send her some nice relaxing bath stuff or a cd you know she likes. To show you are thinking of her and you know that a new baby can be stressful. Maybe send her some coupons for some take out dinner knowing she might not want to cook for a while. Good luck!
