How Do You Ask People To Bring A Gift For A Baby Shower And Avoid People Bringing The Same Gift.?
i have been to a baby shower in the states and i know that people usually do the register thing.i am privileged to plan my friend’s shower and we don’t do the registering thing here.how do i ask people to bring a gift and ….do you think it will be too much to register her somewhere without people turning their noses and changing their minds on coming?
2) my friend doesn’t want to know the sex of her baby and i am planning on having a colour theme so what colour do i pick.also is there any other themes i can pick that will be cheap?
3)I’ve never plan a shower before however i have an idea of how. what i need is crafty and cheap but memorable ideas if you would like to share so i can make it as beautiful and memorable as possible.
please help any idea i am sure will be wonderful
she’s a nurse, married and is on her second baby
thank you
3 great colors for non-knowing parents are green, yellow and white. You can stream off from these base pastels, or mix and match. Question marks are cute decor, depending on how you place them.
Registering is not a bad thing, and I understand if you are frmoa different culture, where this would be considered rude, and selfish. But try registering somewhere low maintenance, like Target or Burlington Coat Factory. I’m sure now-a-days even Wal-Mart has a registrar. Mention on the invite that registry shopping is optional, yet appreciated.
Have fun!
People call and ask what the Mom wants. You tell them several things, in several price ranges. And you spread the word to other attendees, so they can pass it on. Mom picks out the patterns or colors or themes, and people go and buy.
Find out what the nursery colors, pattern, themes will be, and do that. It’s choo choo trains? so do a train cake, do pillow ticking decorations. It’s yellow gingham checks? Yellow cake and decorations.
Our local party stores, the discount one and the full priced one has entire lines of decorations in baby, and colors, and themes. My friend bought games that were pads of paper, just tear off the sheets, give one and a pencil to each guest. She had a lullaby and kids nursery rhyme trivia quiz. Cute, and cheap. She had game prizes of bracelets made from leftover beading projects, cute and cheap. A center piece could be as easy as an inexpensive dolly in a basket, in a real baby onesie, and a matching blanket, the Mom gets to take it home. if you look around, you might find one already basketed in a box. Think Big lots, Dollar General.. Decorate the basket with pretty ribbon, in paper or cloth.
There is always those centerpices that unfold into paper honey combs.
The grandma at one shower gave a basket that had a hood on it, shaped like an old an old fashioned baby carriage. She filled it with a little of everything for baby, and decorated it with those tiny clothespins usually intended for Christmas card hanging.
Do something cute for the cake. Shape it like a can of baby powder, and decorate it like one. Check out Martha Stewart, she has a cake shaped like baby shoes.
