Baby Shower Hostess Gift Suggestions?

I am having my first baby shower this Saturday. What would be some good ideas for hostess gifts? One hostess is also pregnant, with her 2nd child. The other hostess is not pregnant, but she is my sister whom I am very close to. I realize I haven’t left myself much time, but now I’m stumped for gift ideas! help!

maybe a massage certificate or just some flowers if you’re on a budget. a nice bottle of wine for the non-pregnant one. picture frames. cookie ingredients with a recipe (put all the dry ingredients together in a jar and provide the directions on a tag) if they like to bake. a card with a long note and a thank you would be lovely too.

It kind of depends on your relationship with the hostess and what kind of things she’s into. For my baby shower, the hostess really likes when my husband makes danishes and I bring one to work. So as a thank-you/hostess gift I got a thank you card that suited her personality and our relationship and wrote a note thanking her for hosting, letting her know that everyone I talked to really enjoyed it, and my husband made a danish that was just for her (as opposed to one that everyone at the office was entitled to). If your hostesses have a favorite food then you could buy or make them that. If they have a favorite restaurant, then you could get them a gift certificate. A massage, facial, pedicure/manicure, etc is usually a well-appreciated treat for most women and might give them a chance to relax after the hectic preparations for your shower. If they have a hobby, then something related to that hobby (maybe a book, or new piece of equipment) would be nice too.

My mom had a baby shower and what the hostess did was get a group gift of something big, like an excer saucer. Or you could go with a high chair, or a basket of baby soap, washcloths, towels, etc. Or diapers area always a great option. they don’t seem ver exiting, but my mom was ver glad to revieve some.

I think something from Things Remembered would be nice. Maybe for the pregnant hostess, a personalized picture frame or other baby thing. For the non-pregnant one, there are many jewelry boxes there and other things you can personalize. :o ) It’d be something they could each keep forever.

Candles are usually a good choice. Gift cards are another option. I know they are a little impersonal BUT it would allow them to pick out something that they will really get use out of.
