Baby Shower Etiquette: When Is It Appropriate To Give The Hostesses A Thank You Gift?

Some kind people are throwing me a shower today and my mother and I have conflicting views on when I should give them the gifts and cards to thank them. I think that I should do it after the shower, but my mother says that they want the focus to be on me and the baby today so I should wait until Monday. Either way, not the biggest deal in the world. I was just wondering about some other people’s views.

I agree with both you and your mother. But I guess I would wait until after your shower. Not necessarily Monday, but maybe after everyone has left that way it compromises both you and your mother. You get to do it today and she gets to see you still have the attention on you when everyone is present. Hope that helps.

I had my shower last weekend and an waiting on the pictures to com back before I give the hostesses their gifts. Part of the gift was a picture frame that I want to put a picture of all of us in.

I would give them the gift and the card right before you leave the shower..that’s what I did for mine

I think if you wait until after the shower, when everyone is gone, that would be fine.
Waiting until Monday wouldn’t be the end of the world either.
