Any Good Ideas For A Baby Gift?

A friend is pregnant and I want to get her something.
It’s a boy if that helps!
(any must-have books or toys?)

Let everyone else get the material things. I just had a baby and got so many blankets, toys, supplies, clothes, ect… Who ever you’re buying for will probably get enough of all that stuff. Get something useful but not obvious, like gift certificates for house cleaning. Believe me, with a newborn there’s hardly any time for cleaning a house and of course everyone wants to come over to see the new baby. She will really appreciate it right after the baby’s born so she can concentrate on taking care of the little one and take a break from all the dusting and vacuuming.

Toys for the car seat, newborn diapers (I definitely under estimated how many I would need), a play gym for the floor, maybe something for the mom? But I would have to say no clothes or blankets! I think when everyone goes baby shopping they just can’t help but buy a cute outfit then the mom ends up with soo many clothes that baby will grow out of before they even get to wear them. And I ended up with at least 15 blankets, 3 were exactly the same!

You could put together like a themed gift basket, and make it really cute. I did one for a friend before w/ bath time stuff, Towels, wash clothes, rubber duckies, lotion, bedtime bodywash, some p.j’s, a teddy bear, and burp clothes.
