I don’t really need to much just a few little things. Is it rude to put a list in with shower invite. I don’t to appear greedy or anything like that. People usually ask what you might need but I thought it might be easier.

Okay, my best friend is going to have her boy in late September and I’m trying to think of a unique baby gift for him. I was thinking of a blanket with his name on it, but I have no idea where to get one of those. His name is Marcus Layne, but I don’t know what to get him, that is a little out of the norm. Can anyone give me any ideas?

My friend has gotten married, bought a house and had a baby in the year since I’ve seen her. What would be a great housewarming gift? (I already have something for the baby.)

The card I’m giving with my present says “Showers of wishes for your bundle of joy! Happy Baby shower”. Should I just put the parents names on the envelope? Or also the baby’s name. (They know what they’ll be naming him) Any ideas for what I should say in the card? I guess I’m mostly wondering if I should be addressing just the parents, or the parents and the baby.

i kno the best gift would be the baby..but my due date is dec 10th n his birthday is dec 12th and i kno his own birthday wud be the last thing on his mind..which is y i want to surprise him by getting him a gift on his birthday..just to make him feel a lil special

I’m getting married next month, and hadn’t really thought too much about gifts, as people are giving me lots of cash before the wedding.
But I AM invited to a baby shower + just attended a wedding (of which I was in)…all before my wedding.
I would never think about showing up without a gift, but many people do. It is the source of some wild gossip amongst my friends.
What is your opinion? Is it proper to show up sans gift to a bridal shower, baby shower, or wedding?

Giving the wedding gift and the baby gift in the same giving would kind of look like you were trying to make a point …. sort of in the same snide category as bringing a box of ‘Minute Rice’ to throw at the bridal couple. Unless the wedding and the delivery are going to simultaneous, then the gifts shouldn’t be simultaneous either.

We’re playing the game where you melt the mini candy bar in the diaper, so the winner will get the rest of the candy bars, but I’m stuck on presentation. I don’t just want to give them a gift bag of candy bars. Thanks for your ideas!

With my first baby, I recieved several duplicates of things plus things that I already had. Don’t get me wrong, I am very appreciative of the thought that my family and friends put into getting my baby a gift. But with this baby and baby shower, I would like to be able to exchange things that I cannot use for things that we need. Last time, hardly anyone included reciepts so I ended up with a bunch of stuff that I ended up giving away or selling at a garage sale. I hate to just throw away a good gift that someone cared enough to give me when I could still use the money from it to go towards something else for the baby.
