My boss is a scientist, and I thought about getting a nerdy bib for his daughter but the shipping takes way too long. I think it is appropriate to spend <$25 on this gift. She is the first child, so they probably have already been given everything under the sun. Any ideas? I have a good, casual relationship with my boss (i.e. we joke around and stuff), and I've met his wife several times. Both have a great sense of humor.

Oh, she is having a girl, do any day, her shower is this thursday, we are in dental assisting school, and the girls in our class have put together a little money each for the purchase of a crib, but some are able to do more, for someone who does not have much. I want to get my new niece some kind of savings account. I will opened it with $500 and add to it on birthdays and Christmas. What’s the best available product in the US. I’m sure all you mommies have investigated this and any advice would be great. I don’t want it under the parents names just in case they are tempted to dip into it.

I am going to my husbands Aunt’s baby shower (she is really young though only a few years older than my husband). She has a baby boy and is pregnant with number 2 which is a girl.
