im looking for a new idea of what to make for a baby gift for a shower. ive done a nappy cake, bunch of socks and baby clothes (bunch of flowers) and gift baskets/hampers. has anyone got any other ideas of what i can do. i enjoyed making the sock bouquets… is there anything i can do similar but in a different shape! i like unusual so all ideas welcome

dont want just one big gift, want to spend around $20-$30 but it’s been a while since anyone I know has had a baby. what kind of things would be good to get that other people wouldn’t think of?

I need some suggestions for what to buy a couple who just had their first child a boy. Here is the situation. They finally had a child after several miscarriages and the family is well off. They can afford to buy whatever they need for the child but I would still like to give a gift because they are a nice couple. I prefer to stay away from gift certificates because they are impersonal.

I would like something a little different from an outfit or diapers, It is for a boy, any ideas? Thanks

Ok long story short my soon-to-be sister in law is having a baby shower in a couple of months, well her Mom asked me to help out. So i’m in charge of games, decorations and getting a really special gift. I’m already working on a diaper cake but I need some really cool ideas to go along with it. My sister is due to have a newborn baby boy pretty soon and I want to get them a nice gift, but not the average gift of clothes or toys. The newborn already has all the clothes, teething rings, diapers, etc. from his older brother when he was a baby and from the shower. So I want to get something more memorable, unique for the newborn baby boy.

I have been invited to a shower for a very casual acquaintance and I have to work that day. Am I obligated to send a gift, like you are classically supposed to for wedding showers?

Between some family members and coworkers, I’ve got plenty of baby clothes already coming in. I know cute little outfits are a hot gift for baby showers, but I don’t need that at all, I need the every-day, not so adorable, useful items.
Is there anyway to be tactful or creative in stating this? I haven’t got a theme (or even a date) for the party yet, so I really welcome any and all ideas.
