My friend is a young mother and her baby shower is next week and i dont know what to give her.

I am going to a shower this Sunday and I want to get something a mom really needs.

I have already gotten her a $50 giftcard for a purse shop.
I want to give her a little cash as well. how much is appropriate? she is about 50 yrs old, she s watching 5 kids including mine.

Some kind people are throwing me a shower today and my mother and I have conflicting views on when I should give them the gifts and cards to thank them. I think that I should do it after the shower, but my mother says that they want the focus to be on me and the baby today so I should wait until Monday. Either way, not the biggest deal in the world. I missed her shower because, they told me THE NIGHT BEFORE at 11pm and, I had to work the next day. I really don’t like her but, now that is after the fact, am I still obligated to get her something?
