What Is An Appropriate Gift For “to Be” Born Baby?

Hello,
I’m planning to buy a gift for a friend of mine. she is pregnant and going on a leave about a month from now. since i have never done this before, i’m wondering if people would buy gift prior to child’s birth as well as after that or not? If so, what are usually the things that can be bought? Would a post card suffice (prior to leave) or usually something related to baby should accompany?
thanks,

I Sent A Baby Gift To An Estranged Friend, Is That Appropriate?

I ordered a baby gift online for an estranged friend. We had a blow up over something so dumb a year and a half ago. I have spoke to her briefly since, but we are not friends anymore. Her husband was deployed with my husband (they are friends) but recently got sent home early because she is about to have the baby. Anyways, when I had my second daughter, she threw a baby shower for me, so even though we aren’t friends anymore I wanted to send a little gift. I just ordered a little layette from Walmart… nothing big. Do you think it was a nice gesture or was it wrong to do?

Baby Shower Etiquette: When Is It Appropriate To Give The Hostesses A Thank You Gift?

Some kind people are throwing me a shower today and my mother and I have conflicting views on when I should give them the gifts and cards to thank them. I think that I should do it after the shower, but my mother says that they want the focus to be on me and the baby today so I should wait until Monday. Either way, not the biggest deal in the world. I was just wondering about some other people’s views.

What’s An Appropriate Gift For A Baby Middle Named After My Late Wife ?

i got a piggy bank that matched the nursery theme with my sons name engraved in it. it was simple, but it meant a lot to me. it was my favorite present – and i’m using it to start saving up money for him for later.

What Would Be An Appropriate Gift For An Ex-boyfriend And His Wife Who Just Welcomed Their First Baby?

I haven’t seen or really spoken to my ex in about four years (we ended things pretty amicably), and I just got an email sent from his new wife’s email address containing photos of their new baby (a boy). I would like to send a gift either just for the new mother (who I have never met) or for both parents, but I want it to be personal yet appropriate given the fact that I’m the ex-girlfriend. Any ideas?

What Is Appropriate Gift For A Friend’s Baby’s Christening?

I’m going to a Catholic christening for a friend’s baby. Then we’re going to a reception afterwards at an Italian restaurant in NY (my friend is Italian). Is it customary to give a monetary gift (if so, about how much?) or would 2 toys for the baby be ok?
